What We Offer

Boys & Girls Clubs offer young people what they need and want most in our community:

  • adults who respect and listen to them;
  • a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves
  • interesting, constructive activities that channel their energy into challenging pursuits.

All Boys & Girls Clubs programs are based on youth development strategies that build self-confidence and self-esteem to foster a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.

Center in Roanoke City

In response to COVID and in direct partnership with Roanoke City, Boys & Girls Clubs of SWVA will be operating full-day academic support programs for students this school year.

Roanoke City Students:

  • All-day programming available at 9th St. Roanoke Location
  • This program will follow the Academic Support Center model: all students will have access to internet and in-person academic support through our qualified B&GC staff. Additional youth development activities complete the day including recreational sports and games, art, good character and citizenship curricula, and much more!
  • Additional locations will be opened as need demands
  • 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Cost is $175 per week based on the fully virtual Roanoke City Schools plan, but available subsidy and local support can reduce parent cost as low as $30 per week (and additional need will be considered on a case by case basis – our goal is to never turn anyone away based on need)
