The 12th annual Four on the 4th took place on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Fleet Feet of Roanoke, the Town of Vinton, and Boys & GIrls Clubs of Southwest Virginia partnered on this event and executed the event thanks to a number of corporate and in-kind partners.
The event brought out 496 participants for the return on the Vinton course. Mayor Grose provided remarks and Vinton Baptist Church Club staff member Samaryia Napper sang the national anthem. A shotgun start kicked off the 4-mile race, which began at the Vinton War Memorial and was led by Vinton Police Chief Fabricio Drumond and Officer Brandon Hill. A 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run took place as well.
Event participants, family, friends, and volunteers then gathered in the lawn at the War Memorial for food and drink, music, face painting and more. Awards were given out to the top finishers in the following categories:

Top 3 Females
Top Male Master (40+)
Top Female Master (40+)
Top Male Grand Master (50+)
Top Female Grand Master (50+)
Age group awards were presented to the Top 3 Males and Females in each age group category: 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and up.
The event grossed more than $50,000 to help advance the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia, which ensures that we can offer high-yield, low-cost youth development programming after school and during the summer months to local young people.
