The Allstate Foundation’s continued generous support is helping keep our roads and our teens safe through BGCSWVA’s SMART (Skills Mastery And Resistance Training) Driver program. Through the program, teens are tested and educated about the relationship between behaviors and the risk factors involved. The amount of education received by Boys & Girls Clubs teens far exceeds the generally limited and unevaluated driver education that exists in most states. The Allstate Foundation awarded $14,000 in September 2014 to BGCSWVA for educating teens about the risks associated with being a new driver, texting and cell phone use while driving, driving with friends, and being responsible as passengers.
BGCSWVA thanks the Allstate Foundation for helping us to teach safe and responsible behavior to teen drivers before they ever get behind the wheel.
