11th Annual Four on the 4th Race Moves to Vinton 1200 627 Boys & Girls Clubs of SWVA

Underserved youth in the Roanoke region benefit from the American National Bank 4 on the 4th race, presented by Fleet Feet. This annual 4 mile run on the 4th of July attracts over 600 runners each year, and in 2022 will be moving to Vinton.

The American National Bank Four on the 4th Race presented by Fleet Feet will be moving to the Town of Vinton for its 11th year! Previous race routing took runners through downtown Roanoke, but on July 4th, 2022, runners will get to experience a brand-new route that celebrates small-town Americana on our Nation’s 246th birthday. The town of Vinton has graciously welcomed the celebrated holiday tradition to its town limits, with the start and finish line at the Vinton War Memorial. Over 200 parking spaces are available at the War Memorial, with hundreds more across the street at Thrasher United Methodist Church. The race course features a downhill start, less than 150 ft of elevation gain, and a run through picturesque downtown Vinton, including the Vinton Farmer’s Market, newly developed Vineyard Station, and the newest location of the Boys & Girls Club at Vinton Baptist Church.

The annual fundraiser benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of SWVA (BGCSWVA), which currently serves students ages 5-18 in 11 locations in all-day summer camps at little to no cost to families. BGCSWVA has locations in Montgomery County, Franklin County, Roanoke County, Salem City, and Roanoke City. Over $30,000 is raised each year to support summer programs including field trips, academic support and mentoring, and summer meals for kids.
